Description
Very old Berber Moroccan head dress. Antique Amazigh silver head and ear jewelry piece, called ‘kharb’. Large Berber earrings attached to a chain. This silver chain was worn over the head which carries two large ear hoops with silver pendants. These earrings where often heavy and thick and therefore supported by a chain and worn more often as temple ornaments close to the ears. Beautiful, very old, Berber head and ear ornament. See last three pictures of suggestions how this was worn. Length chain 21 cm. Height 11 mm. Found in the south of Morocco, from approximately the first decades of the previous century. Exact silver content unknown; old ethnic silver. * Our ethnic silver jewellery is old or antique and has not been polished to preserve its aged authenticity.
